In a border town during the Republic era, Lin Jianxiong was born looking elderly. During a severe drought, he was branded a bringer of plagues; his father died protecting him, and his mother was separated from him. His childhood friend, Chu Youwei, helped him flee to the mining region. As the days passed, he grew younger in reverse. He was adopted by the mine owner as a godson and went on to dominate the border town for eighteen years. Returning home to rescue his mother, he confronted the Zhao family who colluded with Japanese invaders, joined forces with the Jade Rakshasa to crush an invasion conspiracy, and married Chu Youwei. Yet the peerless jade remains missing, leaving deep clues in its wake.
