On the Ghost Festival, a bridal coffin is carried into Prince Yan's manor. Nether official Qingwu borrows the corpse of the wrongfully killed Yun Qingwu to return to life, marrying Prince Yan Xiao Chenyan, who is plagued by a lethal curse, in her stead. Holding the Judge's Pen, she helps him solve child abduction and murder cases, unaware that this man is her childhood acquaintance—and he has not recognized her yet. Treating her merely as an unknown ghostly entity, Xiao Chenyan tests her at every step, only to be repeatedly outsmarted by her cunning. It is not until she calls out that name only an old friend knows on the Road of Yin and Yang that he realizes: when will he finally see that the person beside him is that very girl from years ago?
