Meng Wanqiu, a powerhouse of the Underworld, is reborn into the body of the General's eldest legitimate daughter. Relying on the "Qiankun Hall" merit system, she begins her daily routine of exorcising ghosts, drawing talismans, and punishing scoundrels in the capital. While joining forces with Prince Ouyang Lin of the Purge Bureau to investigate cases, she accidentally uncovers the tragic massacre of her maternal grandfather's family, the Song clan, who disappeared eleven years ago. The truth gradually surfaces: the Song family did not vanish willingly, but was betrayed by their treacherous servant Liu Cheng, who colluded with the evil cultivator Xing Mu of the Southern Sheng Kingdom. All seventy-eight members of the clan were refined into living zombies and suppressed at the headwaters of the Da Ling Dynasty's water arteries to lay down an evil array cursing the nation's destiny. Burning with fury, Meng Wanqiu embarks on a journey with Ouyang Lin to rescue her kin and seek revenge.
