The old madam of the Lin Group, Fu Xiuzhen, quietly returns to her country to attend the engagement banquet of her son Lin Ting and his girlfriend Chen Qi, bringing a globally limited five-piece jewelry set as a gift. While helping an elderly wheelchair user in a mall elevator, she clashes with Chen Qi and her best friend Su Xiaomei. Later at the jewelry store, Chen Qi mistakes Fu Xiuzhen's plain appearance for someone trying to claim the jewelry, tears up the receipt, slanders and attacks her. Lin Ting is initially misled and fails to recognize his mother. After Fu Xiuzhen is injured and hospitalized, the truth gradually emerges. At the family banquet, Fu Xiuzhen reveals her identity in a high-fashion gown, but Chen Qi and Su Xiaomei still refuse to back down until Lin Ting arrives and confirms his mother's identity.
