After Being Cannon Fodder on a Dating Show, the Whole Internet Went Crazy Shipping Them
Pei Shiyi, an eighteenth-tier extra, achieved her greatest success by playing a female supporting role who gets killed by a car in three seconds in a web drama. Never could she have imagined that she and her husband Huo Yanshen would be designated by the show's production team as "negative examples" to participate in the dating reality show Heartbeat Countdown, serving as a foil contrast group for his younger brother Huo Yanting and Best Actress Song Zhiyao. On the very first day of broadcast, the entire internet mocked her plain white T-shirt and jeans for looking like an extra, betting they wouldn't last three episodes. Yet nobody expected that in the corner camera view, cold-faced young master Huo Yanshen would tie her shoelaces, shield her from oil splatters, cut meat, hand her hot milk, and even buy out an entire ring-toss stall just for an ugly shark plush pillow.
