Everyone called Li Si a destitute, mad beggar who lingered in the streets, barely surviving on leftover wine, and thought his days were numbered. Only the kind-hearted Lady Xu at the tavern took pity on him, often feeding him, sheltering him from the rain, and taking him in to care for him when he was gravely wounded and dying. When thugs came looking for trouble, attempting to seize the tavern and force Lady Xu to pay off a debt, her peaceful life was on the verge of ruin. The beggar who had previously endured abuse without fighting back slowly stood up; with the draw of a flexible sword, the crisis was quelled in an instant.
