Top veterinarian Xia Zhining was originally an adopted daughter of the Xia family, but was framed and kicked out when their real heiress, Xia Qingqing, returned. Waking from a high fever, she unexpectedly awakens the ability to understand animal speech. When a Class-A fugitive comes knocking, her biological brother Ji Shuyun rushes hundreds of miles to capture him. Taking over a zoo on the verge of bankruptcy, she uses clues from animals to crack strange cases like a headless female corpse, kidnappings, and poisonings, engaging in a life-and-death struggle with Xia Zheng and Xia Qingqing. When the dark secret behind the Xia family's illegal experiments is uncovered, an anonymous email reveals that her power originated from a gene-editing experiment—while in the shadows, more 'beast whisperers' are awakening.
