After enduring thirteen grueling years in the Northwest, Shen Zhihe returns to the city only to find her quota for urban resettlement secretly transferred to her younger sister by her own family. Refusing to be emotionally blackmailed by family ties any longer, she clears all financial accounts, resolutely severs ties, and heads south to Shenzhen to venture into business. Along the way, she meets Yao Jin, who is facing difficulties of her own. Partnering in the garment business, the two overcome underhanded competition and persistent family entanglements. Staying true to their aspirations, they carve out their own careers through hard work and live life on their own terms.
