Eighty-Four Hours, Never Withdraw
Disaster simulation system developer Lin Mo, along with retired rescue personnel Zhao Tiezhu and disaster prevention expert Su Qing, discovered the potential safety hazard of the east stairs at Qingshi Town Central Primary School in advance. Days later, a strong earthquake struck Minzhou, causing the teaching building to collapse. Eight students, teacher Chen, and a maintenance worker were trapped in the ruins. Rescue captain Qin Rui led a team to cross the landslide and enter the disaster area, while Lin Mo provided ventilation, core-drilling, load-relieving, and shoring solutions for the front line. At the 70th hour after the earthquake, in order to send out Xiaoman and the maintenance worker, Qin Rui used his body to prop up a steel beam, but became trapped himself. Beyond the 72-hour golden window, the lights at the scene remained on and personnel did not withdraw.
