Half a Bag of Wheat Seeds Cannot Bind a Lifetime
Zhou Dashan from Kaoshan Village, grateful for an old favor of half a bag of wheat seeds, helped Liu Guilan year after year, only to face endless extortion from her. When the Zhou family established a machinery cooperative, they faced one trouble after another—troublemaking, rumors, cyberbullying, and even arson. As a returning youth, Zhou Xiaoning is calm, clear-headed, and meticulous. He returns home to help his family break free from emotional shackles and sees through the ills of rural emotional kidnapping. Upholding reason and the law, they defend their rights legally, rebuild the cooperative, and establish a new rural ethos where gratitude has its limits.
