Five Hundred Thousand Brotherhood Love
Rural villager Lu Changshan has stayed behind in his remote homeland for years, quietly caring for elderly neighbors living alone. When his wife suddenly falls gravely ill and needs five hundred thousand for surgery, he is reluctant to burden his childhood friends Zhao Guangmin and Chen Jingsong who are working hard outside. He falsely claims he is borrowing money to build a house and faces polite rejections, managing to borrow only two hundred yuan after going all over the village. Unable to bear keeping it secret, elder Aunt Zhao reveals the truth to the two brothers.
