The Unfinished Cabinet
After his father, Cheng Shouzhuo, passes away, Cheng Ye sets out to deal with the unfinished camphorwood cabinet on the balcony. Inside, he discovers his father's unfinished will and half a train ticket. His mother initially denies knowing Fang Qiaoyun, but an old account book tells another story: "Fang Qiaoyun's cabinet, material costs: 300 yuan, unpaid for thirty years." Carrying an iron box, Cheng Ye travels to Hekou Town to find Fang Qiaoyun and learns woodworking from Old Zhao. Following his father's blueprints, he completes the cabinet and delivers it to Qiaoyun's convenience store. Fang Qiaoyun refuses the old family house but accepts the cabinet.
