At the engagement banquet, Lin Yang had been looking forward to starting a new life with his girlfriend. But his future brother-in-law, Zhao Qiang, publicly confronted him, demanding that he hand over the family restaurant that had been run by three generations of his family. He wanted to rename it under the Zhao family name, offering Lin Yang a mere 20,000 yuan in fixed monthly pay while keeping 80% of the profits for himself. His future mother-in-law also joined in, sneering that the Lin family's bone broth shop was nothing special. Seeing his father trembling with anger, Lin Yang, humiliated in front of everyone, finally found the determination to turn his life around amid this engagement banquet fiasco.
