The Great Qian Prodigal Son
Qin Xiaoman travels through time to become the son of the richest man in Fuyang. Awakening, he finds himself framed in a gambling match, owing tens of thousands of bushels of grain, and is even dumped by his fiancée who comes to break off the engagement. He turns the tables, breaking off the engagement himself to demand back the betrothal gifts, and competes in poetry with everyone. With the poems 'Grass' and 'Quiet Night Thoughts', he reverses the gambling match, not only wiping out his debts but also earning back twenty thousand bushels of grain. On the surface, he acts like a prodigal, leasing one million mu of idle fields to raise ducks and geese, but secretly he cultivates ratoon rice. Wang Yaohui sets a trap to frame him for ghostwriting, but he proves his innocence on the spot. Wang Yaohui leads men to raid the Qin residence in the middle of the night to kill him, only to be killed by him in return. Wang Zhichang leads men to forcefully take Qin Xiaoman away to convict him, but is deterred by his ratoon rice. Greedy for the credit of the ratoon rice, Wang Zhichang hastily closes the case, only to realize he has been played.
