The Profligate County Magistrate: Your Majesty, Your Subject Only Asks for Death - Season 1
After transmigrating to the Ming Dynasty, Ye Qing can return to the modern era only if he is sentenced to death. He submits a memorial listing his own alleged crimes, prompting Zhu Yuanzhang to investigate incognito, only to discover that the once-barren and bitterly cold Yanmen County has become a prosperous haven where people live in peace. Desperate to return home, Ye Qing deliberately tarnishes his own reputation, but his improvements to farming and sericulture, along with his defense against enemies and protection of the people, completely win over the emperor. As he is about to be executed, thousands of commoners carry blood-written petitions to the capital to plead for justice, vowing to live or die alongside their upright magistrate! Faced with the overwhelming will of the people, what choice will the emperor of the Great Ming make? Adapted from the novel The Great Ming Dynasty's Number One Corrupt Official by Yu Jianghe.
