The Silent Stone Fish
After three years of severe drought, the Qingshi River has dried up. Lu Yanchuan, a carpenter, inherits a mouthless stone fish left behind by his father. The legends of the stone fish seeping water and the golden spring reappearing in the old riverbed awaken greed and spark a struggle for possession. The wealthy merchant Pei Wanshan secretly excavates the riverbed in search of mineral veins, accidentally destroying an ancient watercourse. With torrential rain approaching and a devastating flood threatening the land, the ancestral bridge, family home, and ancestral graves each become the focus of life-or-death decisions. Only when everyone joins forces to open the sluice gates and divert the flood does Lu Yanchuan finally understand that the stone fish has never saved anyone from danger; those who can truly save people have always been people themselves.
