Return of the Immortal of Nanxi: A Dream of Past and Present
Liu Zhongyuan, a hidden true immortal of the Northern Song dynasty, traveled through a millennium due to an accident and appeared at Nanxi Mountain in Guilin. He met Liyue, an inheritor of intangible cultural heritage wellness, witnessing how the ancient epidemic-relief formulas once carved on cliff walls have now become a handed-down intangible heritage and a landscape wellness resort. Facing the chaotic phenomenon of selling fakes for profit under the name of immortals, he stepped forward to set things straight and clarify the source, dismantling fake and real ancient methods while imparting orthodox wellness mindset techniques. Spanning three generations of time and space across the Northern Song, Republican, and modern eras, the story connects a millennial cultural vein with the original intention of saving the world, staging a destined immortal romance intertwined between past and present. The immortal ultimately returns to the Northern Song, and the cultural vein of saving the world henceforth takes root in the mortal world, spreading and enduring forever.
