The Live-In Son-in-Law Became the Heir
Designer Chen Yan gave up his promising career and married into the Xu family as a live-in son-in-law for seven years to support his wife. He bought groceries, cooked meals, and took care of his parents-in-law, yet Xu Zhiwei looked down on him for being useless. After having an affair with Zhou Kai, the driver, she demanded a divorce in front of everyone. Chen Yan's wealthy parents-in-law had long regarded him as their own son. They slapped their daughter and threw her out of the house, transferring the entire 35% stake worth 30 billion to Chen Yan and helping him relaunch his design studio. Only after marrying Zhou Kai did Xu Zhiwei discover that he had deceived her into marriage while owing 300,000 in gambling debts. With nowhere else to turn, she tried to reconcile with Chen Yan, only to discover that his career was thriving and that he already had a gentle, understanding girlfriend, Shen Qingyan. His parents-in-law were delighted with their new daughter-in-law. Xu Zhiwei bitterly regretted her choices, but even after causing a scene at their wedding, she ultimately ended up with nothing.
