During the Wanli era, fishermen mysteriously disappeared one after another along the southeastern coast, and a ghost ship bearing the words "South Seas Blood Sacrifice" appeared before sinking into the depths, sparking widespread panic. Xiao Yan, a centurion of the Embroidered Uniform Guard, was ordered to travel south to investigate. He and his partner Shen Yun disguised themselves as fishermen to head out to sea, only to be captured by pirates and taken to their secret base on Nanda Island. On the island, the Japanese commander Hideaki Ando colluded with Ming smugglers and South Seas arms dealers to enslave local captives and forge weapons, plotting an invasion of the southeastern coast the following year. Joining forces with the indigenous leader Moduo and the enslaved miners, Xiao Yan destroyed the mines and weapons foundry, slaying Hideaki Ando in a final showdown. Returning to the capital with vital intelligence, they sounded the alarm on the Japanese ambitions and bought precious time for the empire's coastal defense deployments.
