In a northern county town in the 1970s, the autumn air is crisp and refreshing. Jiang Xiaoyue, a village girl from the mountains, agrees to a marriage arrangement to pay for her father's medical treatment. But when she arrives at her new home, she discovers that the man she has married is completely different from the young man she met during their matchmaking meeting. Refusing to accept her fate, she relies on her extraordinary strength and impressive skills to climb the mountains collecting pine cones, hunt wild boars, and work tirelessly from dawn till dusk to earn an honest living. Determined to repay her debts and end the engagement with her dignity intact, she sets out to change her life. Gu Zhenhua, the deputy director of the county machinery factory, is captivated by her cheerful and capable nature. As the two gradually get to know and understand each other, they develop mutual respect and support, eventually joining forces to open a mountain produce shop and build a prosperous life together.

En los años setenta, en una pequeña ciudad del norte de China, el otoño trae un aire fresco y agradable. Jiang Xiaoyue, una joven de una aldea de montaña, acepta un matrimonio concertado para poder pagar el tratamiento médico de su padre. Sin embargo, al llegar a su nuevo hogar, descubre que el hombre con quien acaba de casarse no se parece en absoluto al joven que conoció durante el encuentro para concertar el matrimonio.
