Encounter · Half a Century of Kindness
In the 1970s, young Zhao Ziqi seemed unworthy of love because of his family's background. Yet, through ordinary days, he brought a glimmer of light into the lives of five women: a bowl of life-saving hot noodles at a hospital in 1971, a companion running alongside someone on a school field in 1975, a letter addressed to the wrong name in 1977, a shoeshine girl treated with kindness outside a hotel in the 1990s, and a long conversation about the Book of Changes at a bookstall. Decades later, these five women from Beijing, Guangdong, Wuhan, Shenzhen, and Chengdu unexpectedly arrive in the same city on the same day, all searching for the same man. Adapted from Liu Yanhuang's novel Encounter.
