Among the Noble Ladies, He Chose the Roundest One
Jiang Lingyuan, the second daughter of the Marquis of Yongning, is sincere, straightforward, fond of food, and genuine in her dealings with others. At a matchmaking banquet for noble young ladies hosted by Prince Jing's residence, the daughters of prominent families display their gentleness and talents, but Xie Yuchuan, the heir to Prince Jing, notices only Jiang Lingyuan and openly declares his affection for her. He had already remembered her warmhearted and kind nature at the Lantern Festival earlier that year. Despite the petty gossip of others, Xie Yuchuan consistently stands up for her and carefully remembers all her food preferences. The Empress Dowager and the Emperor greatly admire how well their temperaments complement each other and issue an imperial decree arranging their marriage. After the wedding, Xie Yuchuan treats her with consideration and patience in every matter, accommodating her preferences at every turn. During the Lantern Festival, they stroll hand in hand, accepting each other for who they truly are and sharing a peaceful, fulfilling life together year after year.
