Entrusting the Child for Ten Years, Achieving Success, Returning Home, Regretting for a Lifetime
On a rainy night in 1998, Chen Jianjun, a carpenter falsely accused of embezzling collective retention funds, entrusted his three-year-old daughter Xiaoman, along with his farmland and savings, entirely to his younger brother Chen Jianye, and left alone. Ten years later, now an overseas entrepreneur, he returned home to pick up his daughter and discovered that she had suffered so much grievance. Therefore, he went back undercover disguised as a traveling carpenter, secretly investigating the truth of the old case on one hand, and silently protecting his daughter who bore the infamous name of a "thief's daughter" and suffered harsh treatment from her uncle and aunt on the other. As old accounts, farmland, and witnesses surfaced layer by layer, the truth about his younger brother framing him, planting evidence, and embezzling family property was completely exposed. On the day his wrongful grievance was vindicated, father and daughter finally recognized each other under the red persimmons full of trees, and set foot on the road back home.
