Openly he works as a gatekeeper and menial servant of the Jiang family; in secret he slays his foes, sows strife to pit the Jiang clan and Flying Cloud Stronghold into a deadly fight, and step by step washes away his humiliation. Beneath her veil, Su Qianxue holds a stunning face and suffers from a strange, deadly poison. Jiang Chi kills all who dare mistreat her and flees far away with her to Ningyang. In the new city, hidden schemes run rampant — the city lord is poisoned, the deputy lord plots usurpation, and the Heavenly Sect moves in the shadows.
