Song Zhi, a young woman from Lin'an, travels to the capital with her grandmother's jade pendant to fulfill a marriage arrangement. When she hears people making fun of Pei Xiuyan's illness, she publicly declares, "I'll marry him." Little does she know that when she runs into the man himself, she fails to recognize him and even uses the name of "my husband, Pei Xiuyan" to scare him. Pei Xiuyan claims he never agreed to marry her, but secretly repairs her rabbit lantern when he gets home. After their wedding, an old case involving the Pei family draws them both into danger.
