In the layout of the Southwest Third Front, "Panzhihua's mines and Liupanshui's coal" is the core coal-steel linkage strategy, and the Wangjiazhai Coal Mine located in the hinterland of the Wumeng Mountains is the flagship project of the Shuicheng Mining Area of the Liupanshui Coal Base. It shoulders the core mission of supplying high-quality coking coal for the Panzhihua Iron and Steel Base and the Southwest national defense industry, which is directly related to the industrial self-sufficiency capacity of the entire Southwest strategic rear.
