Zhao Zheng accidentally travels back in time to an ancient year of famine, becoming Zhao the Third, a man destitute and constantly bullied. Facing the dire situation where his vicious eldest brother's family attempts to abduct the two filial orphan girls, Yang Zhaodi and Zhang Xiao'e, Zhao Zheng awakens a mall system. Casting off his predecessor's cowardice, he uses the system to trade resources for modern weapons and abundant food. He not only nurtures the two malnourished girls back to health, but also builds a grand three-courtyard mansion. Taking every step calculatedly, Zhao Zheng fights wicked relatives, overthrows tyrannical landlords, repels mountain bandits, rescues the county magistrate's daughter, and rises from an obscure mountain peasant to the chief patrol officer of Daguan Township, leading his family to turn their fortunes around and reach the pinnacle of life in the year of famine.
