Lotus Blooms on the Pillow, Mountains and Rivers as Confidants
A phoenix is imprisoned behind palace walls, while a monk is hidden within an ancient temple. Princess A-Luan of Qixia and Xuanji meet ahead of their destined time. One pillow carries the mysteries of a distant realm, while their very beings are trapped within the cages of fate. This is not a tale of romance or worldly desire, but of two souls reflecting one another. Beneath the lantern-lit shadows of Yunjing, mysterious undercurrents of strange and supernatural tales surge. Sovereigns and ministers, monks and laypeople, and the human heart itself are all bound by their own shackles. Amidst an endless web of worldly entanglements, they search for the one kindred soul who truly understands them, taking one step after another toward an ending written long ago. The twin lotus blossoms cross a thousand mountains, and at last reunite in a lotus pond in Lingnan, where they guard their old dream of a distant realm together.
