Publishing editor Ruan Ning accidentally damages a Tang dynasty ancient scroll and, driven to desperation, comes to the "Gaps of Time" small shop, where she meets ancient book restoration master Shen Ci. Together, they fight against the colleagues who framed her, real estate developers and mafia forces who carry out forced demolition and arson. While restoring ancient books, they unexpectedly discover clues to an underground secret room and a lost national treasure, resolve cultural relic crises along the way, uncover the past of Shen Ci's ruined family, and also retrieve the Nine-Dragon Jade Seal lost by Ruan's grandfather. After experiencing trials and tribulations, the two uphold their original intention toward cultural relics, rebuild the small shop, and Shen Ci proposes with an ancient jade, transforming the shop into an intangible cultural heritage base, using skillful hands to restore damaged scrolls and accompanying each other through tender old times.

L'editrice Ruan Ning danneggia inavvertitamente un rotolo antico della dinastia Tang e, senza via d'uscita, arriva nel negozietto "Fessure del Tempo", dove conosce il maestro di restauro di libri antichi Shen Ci. Insieme combattono i colleghi che l'hanno incastrata, i costruttori edili di demolizioni forzate e incendi dolosi e le forze della malavita. Durante il restauro dei libri antichi, scoprono inaspettatamente indizi su una stanza segreta sotterranea e su un tesoro nazionale perduto, risolvendo lungo il cammino crisi di reliquie culturali, svelando il passato rovinato della famiglia di Shen Ci e ritrovando anche il Sigillo di Giada dei Nove Draghi perduto del nonno di Ruan.
