In the 1980s, Ye Shuang is a disposable character forced from the start to marry Fu Cheng, a man famous for his icy demeanor. After their wedding night, he returns to the city, leaving her in the countryside to face his family’s mistreatment, a pregnancy with quadruplets, and a fate that says she will die in childbirth. Determined to survive, she heads to the city with her pregnant belly. There, she discovers that Fu Cheng may wear a cold expression at work, but at night he blushes as he massages her legs, washes her hair, and searches for herbs in the middle of the night to soothe her itching. As his icy exterior begins to melt and his affection grows, an unexpected letter of accusation throws everything into doubt: someone claims Ye Shuang tricked him into marriage and lied about the pregnancy, and that the children are not Fu Cheng’s.
