Filling In the Pond to Make a Parking Lot, the Ground Collapsed Three Days Later
Zhou Yi earns 400,000 yuan a year from the fishpond inherited from his ancestors. Jealous of his success, his neighbor forcibly fills in the pond to turn it into a parking lot, claiming that ownership of the land is disputed. Rather than confronting him head-on, Zhou Yi secretly takes advantage of the underground river and geological structure beneath the pond. When torrential rain arrives, blocking the pond forces the groundwater to change course, causing extensive ground subsidence in the neighbor's yard and leaving his new car stuck in a muddy pit. In the end, the neighbor pays one million yuan in compensation, has the fishpond excavated again, and apologizes publicly. Zhou Yi protects his ancestral property while laying the groundwork for an even bigger business battle to come.
