Gu Tingzhou, founder of the Gu Corporation, looks dignified and composed on the outside, but is secretly obsessed with watching vertical short dramas. Having seen through human nature, he is deeply wary of remarrying, despite repeated urgings from his son, Gu Mingxuan. When Gu Mingxuan suddenly faints from hypoglycemia, he is warmly rescued by Su Wan, a kind-hearted retired female doctor, and immediately resolves to "market" his father to her. Having sacrificed everything for her son Lin Hao for half her life, Su Wan is treated by the selfish Lin Hao and his wife Tingting merely as a stepping stone to curry favor with the powerful; to please his superior President Wu, Lin Hao arranges a blind date between them. By a twist of fate, Su Wan sits at the wrong table and meets Gu Tingzhou disguised as a taxi driver. Finding their values aligned and each other deeply sincere, the two decide to tie the knot on the spot.
