Five Years of Free Repairs, After I Stop, the Entire Residential Complex Panics
Wang Jianjun, a retired senior fitter, lives alone in an old residential complex. For five years, he has provided free plumbing and electrical repairs to every resident, responding whenever called and never charging a cent, even paying for replacement parts out of his own pocket. When Lin Weiwei, a young resident, fails to extort compensation over her broken water heater, she spreads rumors accusing him of theft and voyeurism. Liu Guilan, the head of the residents' committee, takes advantage of the situation, fines him, and issues a ban on his repair work. Heartbroken, Wang Jianjun packs away his tools and stops offering repairs. The entire residential complex immediately descends into repair chaos, and the two antagonists suffer the consequences of their own actions. Eventually, the residents collectively apologize and beg him to return. Wang Jianjun establishes new repair rules and finally earns the respect and dignity his skills deserve.
