Fleeing Famine to the Western Regions, I Have Two Ancient Divine Beasts by My Side
Cui Shuning, daughter of a medicine merchant in the capital, accidentally discovers that the Chancellor is colluding with unscrupulous merchants to sell counterfeit medicine. Her entire family is wanted, forcing them to flee overnight to the Western Regions. During a sandstorm, she loses blood and awakens two divine beasts: an alpaca that drives away all beasts and a spider that leads them to underground rivers. The bribed lord of Qiaotoubang repeatedly plots against them, but the divine beasts secretly protect the family. Even with a wanted notice issued, they are eventually driven out. With nowhere else to turn, they head for the abandoned Central Province, where they encounter Qin Shaoyou, a disgraced official who has fallen into despair. Amid the ruins, his eyes are as lifeless as stagnant water. She cannot see, yet she can still discern the fire burning deep within his heart.
