Seven years ago, Song Yanchen returned victoriously to Huacheng from the northern desert, only for his younger sister to be killed by Jiang Shuyi's brother, Jiang Shuqi. To save Jiang Shuyi, Song Yanchen fell into a comatose state due to poison; his mother, Commandery Princess Yunrong, vented her fury on Jiang Shuyi and drove her out of the manor. Seven years later, Jiang Shuyi has become the head of the Huacheng Chamber of Commerce, promoting trade between the northern desert and Daliang. Reunited with Song Yanchen, their misunderstandings remain unresolved: he mistakenly believes she has remarried, while she believes he despises her. Through Jiang Shuyi's persistent efforts, Song Yanchen comes to appreciate what she has accomplished and successfully opens trade ports. Jiang Shuyi returns to the northern desert, but Song Yanchen compels her to return to Daliang once more. Both mistakenly fearing the other is in mortal danger, they race across the wilderness toward each other at Mount Beiyan.
