Si Yan, the legitimate daughter of the Minister's manor, had a prophetic dream: in the dream, she annulled her engagement and abandoned her fallen fiancé, Jiang Youze. Later, he rose to become the all-powerful Lord of Nine Thousand Years, locking her in a golden cage to torment her day and night. Upon waking, she resolves not to break the betrothal, pawning all her jewelry to bribe officials and pave the way for her disgraced fiancé entering the palace as a eunuch—seeking only to save her life. Yet burdened by his mutilated body, Jiang Youze pushes her away time and again, but she stubbornly draws closer each time. One strives with all his might to give her status and honor, while the other bets everything to redeem him. Through every rise and fall of fate, she is utterly willing.
