Modern female doctor Qiao Xingyue dies suddenly and travels back to the 1970s, becoming an overweight girl plotted against by her own mother into marrying Xie Zhongming. Cast aside before she could even see her husband's face clearly, she raises their twin daughters, An'an and Ningning, alone. Years later, Qiao Xingyue, now working as a village doctor, happens upon the injured Xie Zhongming and operates on him. Later, to afford medical treatment for her daughter, she applies to become a nanny for the Xie family, unexpectedly reuniting with him. As they spend time together, Xie Zhongming is gradually drawn to her wit and resilience, while clues like the twin daughters' genetic illness and facial features lead everyone to realize that Qiao Xingyue is none other than his wife who vanished years ago.
