Lin Shuang was once the picture of an enviable wife and mother: wealthy, patient, with a lovely young daughter. Yet when her mother-in-law's family moved to the city to stay temporarily, they ended up staying for five years. Valuing family harmony, Lin Shuang quietly took care of the daily needs of six people, believing that enduring friction would preserve peace. That is, until her daughter was due to start primary school and Lin Shuang discovered her husband had secretly transferred their prime school-district apartment to his brother's son. With her daughter shut out of school, her attempts to talk were met only with insults, abuse, and locking her away. Shattered and finally awake, Lin Shuang refuses to endure any longer: hiring a lawyer, gathering evidence, and taking them to court, she wields the law to reclaim what is rightfully her daughter's.
