Lin Yan makes a living climbing mountains to dig medicinal herbs, but his wife is critically ill and in urgent need of treatment expenses. Herb merchants constantly drive down purchase prices, leaving his life in dire straits. Driven to desperation, he ventures alone into a deep, misty, and treacherous canyon to hunt for rare, valuable herbs, hoping to cover his beloved's medical bills with high prices. Agile and fearless, he scales cliffs and crosses perils, repeatedly turning danger into safety in the rugged wilderness, where a chance encounter introduces him to the local Qin family. Refusing to remain trapped in poverty, Lin Yan relies on the grit inherent to herb gatherers to deal squarely in the herbal trade.
