The county yamen coroner fled overnight, and odd-job girl Su Xiaoqi temporarily took over the post. She is usually lazy and playful, but possesses outstanding talent in autopsy and case-solving. Junior magistrate Gu Qingyan has a rigid personality and intensely dislikes this temporary worker. Su Xiaoqi discovers a flaw in a three-year-old unsolved case during her duties, and the two become partners—one digging up clues, the other keeping things covered within the rules. With daily banter and a love-hate dynamic, they join forces with the people of the yamen to expose the wealthy merchant's false mask and uncover the long-sealed truth.
