Transmigrating into 'Lord Xuanyang', the guardian deity enshrined in Liu Village, his stone statue cracks after years without incense offerings. Fortunately, his sole believer, Old Lady Liu, makes a dying worship that activates the Merit System and unlocks divine powers. To complete system quests and recast his golden body, he aids villagers in rushing the harvest and expelling evil spirits, steadily winning the village's trust. As followers multiply and his domain expands, he battles Old Master Hui, a demon masquerading as a god, ultimately slaying him with thunder magic and subduing the owl Chiyu and the weasel spirit Huang Ling as attendants. Recognized by the county magistrate with the title 'Duke Xuanyang', his territory widens and merit compounds daily, laying the path to becoming a true golden-bodied deity.
