Lu Yuan kindly helps up a fallen elderly woman, only to be unexpectedly ensnared in a carefully orchestrated extortion scheme. Facing demands for compensation from her family, manipulative live-streams by digital media, and a frenzied storm of online public outrage, this ordinary office worker quickly becomes the target of a nationwide witch hunt. Confronted with a barrage of misunderstandings, threats, and frame-ups, Lu Yuan works with Xu Jing and others to track down evidence, pursue the truth, and battle against the puppet masters of online traffic like Lao K.
