In the cyberpunk megacity of "Diegang", social hierarchy is rigid. Tech titan SIT monopolizes cybernetic modification and consciousness immortality, while the AI "J" controls all individuals through data. Courier Liu Xia vanishes into thin air after being struck by a falling steel beam. Aging local cop Lao Wei uncovers anomalies in his identity during the investigation, while SIT operative A Ya is dispatched to wipe out any trace of his existence. Rescued by black-market cybernetics dealer Gui Jie, Liu Xia is shocked to learn that he is actually DUST-01, SIT's first-generation bionic prototype under "Project DUST".
