Chen Yuan unexpectedly dreams that his late grandfather has started a rebellion in the Netherworld. Receiving an Underworld ID card left by his grandfather, he burns joss paper to send military funds to the underworld, receiving divine elixirs, mystic arts, and treasures in return. Using an elixir capable of regrowing severed limbs, he saves the grandfather of female CEO Wang Yuxin, sweeps away his enemies with powers bestowed by his grandfather, and alters destinies using the Book of Life and Death to amass immense wealth. While his grandfather fights to unify the Netherworld, Chen Yuan conquers the mortal realm by winning over the Vermilion Bird War Goddess and the Holy Maiden of Medicine God Valley, foiling foreign invaders and villainous plots, slaughtering demonic overlords with the Immortal-Slaying Sword Formation, and ultimately marrying Wang Yuxin to reach the pinnacle of life.
