Ling Rui, the premier prodigal son of the Great Qian Dynasty, accidentally binds with the Ultimate Spendthrift System. He is forced to squander a massive amount of silver every single day, or else his lifespan will be deducted. Forced to spend money like water, he buys a barren mountain that turns out to yield an iron mine, and purchases wasteland that reveals a hot spring, rising to fame and legend with every sum spent. Along the way, he encounters courtesan Su Jin'er, Eldest Princess Jiang Yueming, wealthiest heiress Liu Ruyan, and female general Shen Hongying, while becoming embroiled in imperial court intrigue and border conflicts. In the end, he not only brings down the Second Prince, but after the system unbinds, he gives away his remaining fortune and retreats to Jiangnan with his beloved to found an academy, leaving behind a legendary tale.
