Gui Hua Returns Home to Clear the Wasteland
Gui Er goes out to learn the craft of planting osmanthus flowers, and returns to the barren Osmanthus Village. The southern slope behind the village has been abandoned for years, with villagers only growing coarse grains and relying on heaven for food. Gui Er proposes planting osmanthus flowers, which is opposed by Uncle Gui, who believes there is no market or way to sell them. Gui Er insists on test-planting, and together with A Shi and Da Niu, clears the slope, cuts cuttings for seedling raising, prunes branches and thins buds. After going through pests and prolonged rain, they finally harvest osmanthus flowers, scenting tea, brewing wine, making pastries, and boiling paste, which opens up sales channels and leads the entire village to turn the barren slope into an osmanthus garden, filling the mountain village with the fragrance of osmanthus.

Gui Er sale a aprender el arte de cultivar flores de osmanthus y regresa a la estéril Aldea de Osmanthus. La pendiente sur detrás de la aldea ha estado abandonada durante años; los aldeanos solo cultivan granos gruesos y dependen del cielo para comer. Gui Er propone plantar flores de osmanthus, lo cual es rechazado por el Tío Gui, quien cree que no hay dónde venderlas. Gui Er insiste en la siembra de prueba y, junto con A Shi y Da Niu, limpia la pendiente para abrir tierras, hace esquejes para criar plántulas, poda ramas y aclara capullos. Tras superar plagas y lluvias continuas, finalmente cosechan flores de osmanthus, aromatizan té, elaboran vino, hacen pasteles y hierven pasta, abriendo canales de venta y guiando a toda la aldea para convertir la pendiente estéril en un jardín de osmanthus, llenando la aldea montañosa con la fragancia del osmanthus.
