From the Day I Retired, I Stopped Being an ATM
Just after celebrating her 60th birthday, Luo Yuqin retires. She has 4.2 million in savings, enough to enjoy a comfortable retirement. But she doesn't tell her son and daughter-in-law the truth. Instead, she claims she has only 200,000 left, which she needs to save for medical expenses. She thinks keeping quiet about her money will help the family live in peace. Instead, she is met with increasingly cold calls of "Auntie." She casually wipes the greasy kitchen counter, while packages sit uncollected for two days. Even her grandson, Duoduo, starts calling her Auntie. It hurts, but all she dares tell her son is, "I want to ask what's wrong, but I'm afraid that if I say anything, the two of you will start arguing again."
