In Wanfu Mountain Village, of the two Chen brothers, Chen Jian was hardworking and capable, while Chen Dabao was lazy and gluttonous. After Chen Jian achieved great success and returned to his hometown, Chen Dabao grew consumed by jealousy and struck him dead with a car. Both brothers were reborn right before their wedding days. Remembering the misery of his past life, Chen Dabao insisted on swapping brides. Chen Jian realized his brother had also been reborn. In this life, Chen Jian married the outwardly shrewish Li Ruyi, while Chen Dabao married Lin Ruoxue, whom he believed brought fortune to her husband. However, Chen Jian's life flourished more each day, while Chen Dabao's became a complete mess. Chen Jian led the villagers to develop tourism and farming to prosper, whereas Chen Dabao ended up behind bars for breaking the law.
