When cracks appear on the Wujiu Stele of the Jilan Sect, Shen Sui, an outer sect herbal garden worker, discovers a link between the stele's anomalies and a sealed stele-guarding case from three years ago. Lu Che, the chief disciple of the Disciplinary Hall, is ordered to investigate. Moving from mutual distrust to jointly tracing the ancient spiritual veins, the two ultimately discover that the so-called 'Shadow of the Reverse Spiritual Vein' is not an evil spirit to be eradicated, but the shadow of spiritual veins erroneously sealed off. What truly needs mending is not merely the stele, but the lives overlooked by the rules.
