When mother gets into a car accident, live-in son-in-law Su Hao is beside himself with worry, but his wife Lin Qingyue repeatedly mocks him and even freezes his credit card. Busy rekindling old flames with her ex-boyfriend, she ignores her mother's safety, delaying crucial treatment until resuscitation fails and the mother passes away. What Lin Qingyue doesn't know is that the victim in the accident was her own biological mother. Her beloved 'high-quality' ex-boyfriend turns out to be nothing more than a selfish climber with a fiancée. Lin Qingyue ultimately pays a bitter price for her cold-bloodedness, facing the consequences and drowning in endless regret.
